Elizabeth Taylor - Shah Jehan Pendant Necklace [AV0109167] $195.00
Elizabeth Taylor - Shah Jehan Pendant Necklace

One of the most magnificent pieces of Elizabeth Taylor’s private collection is the Shah Jehan diamond that she received as a 40th birthday present from her husband Richard Burton. In 1628 the priceless diamond was inscribed with the name of the Maharani Noor Jehan and the date of the Emperor Shah Jehan’s placement to the throne. Shah Jehan built the Taj Mahal for his bride.

This recreation of that piece is a brilliantly faceted crystal heart and bears the same inscriptions as the Shah Jehan diamond. It is embellished with faux rubies, a jade-green inlay, and it is set off with crystal accents. The back is checkerboard of jade and gold. There is an adjustable ornate gold cord with ruby glass bead tassels. This piece is to date, the most expensive piece of jewelry in the Avon line. The book, "Identifying Avon Jewelry" dates this necklace to 1993 with a value of $350. We have it here for less!
